How do you restore a culture?
For decades, priceless ancient artefacts were looted from Cambodia, as the country struggled through the aftermath of a genocidal regime and civil war. Many of these artefacts were sold into private collections and museums the world over. Now, they’re being sent home. The Economist’s Josh Spencer travels to Cambodia to witness several of these cultural treasures return from New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. Artefact hunters tell him the dramatic tale of how the priceless objects left, and what it means for them to come back.
